Company Growth

ATR Associates continues to grow and to expand our list of clients and services.  We have been issued our Virginia Class B Contractors license. Our Specialty Categories are ENV (Environmental) and LSC (Landscape Services). This allows us to perform turn-key and design-build contracts for Low Impact Development stormwater systems.  We are now able to construct small BMPs such as bioretention units ("rain gardens"), infiltration galleries, dry wells, etc.



New Innovations

ATR Associates is helping FINOVA Capital Corporation/Cactus Resorts redevelop property along Moodna Creek in Orange County, New York.  This non-performing paper mill was difficult to sell since it was in the 100-year floodplain.  It was also the location of a small, industrial waste landfill.  ATR Associates is developing the land as a wetland bank.  The landfill will be excavated. The bank will increase forested wetland resources, re-connect the incised stream with its floodplain for erosion and flood control, and will eliminate invasions of purple loosestrife and Japanese knotweed.  In addition, a small house on the property will be re-developed into a kayak/canoe supply store and a kayak put-in/take-out area will be integrated into the wetland bank.



Recent Successes

In June, as a subcontractor to Risk Management Technologies, Inc. of Alexandria, Virginia, ATR Associates helped a Confidential Client obtain a No Further Action letter from PADEP under the State's Act 2 - Land Recycling Program.  ATR Asso-ciates prepared the technical portions of the site investigation and completion reports, which included a risk assessment involving ground water modeling of chlorinated compounds and an evaluation of the potential risks through vapor intrusion into nearby residences.  The project was complicated by the presence of light non-aqueous phase liquids in some portions of the site.  The final report was accepted by PADEP without comments.
